Two family members in Mukono District have accused Mr Vincent Sekate, the Spokesman of Criminal Investigations Directorate, of grabbing their 19-acre piece of land.
Mr Wilberforce Kityo Kaweesa and Ms Robina Nalumansi, who say they are the administrators of the land in Kisanjufu Village, Kyampsi Sub-county, accused Mr Sekate for torturing and grabbing their land after the death of their father, Christopher Sempa, in 2015.
“I am one of the administrators but I wonder how Ssekate processed the land title for our land because we are even living on it and our late father’s land tittles indicate 1971 and Sekate claims he got the land tittles in 2015,” Mr Kityo said.
Ms Nalumansi said they just saw Sekate coming to destroy their property in accompany of police officers so as to evict them from their land without their notice.
Nalumansi said they decided to drag him to court because they have never sold this land to him.
They said Sekate’s land title papers shows that he bought the land from Mariam Nabulya, a daughter to Yonasi Magoba a friend to late Sempa.
“Ssekate connived with Nabulya and forged ways to grab our land and we shall not accept that,” they said.
They said though Sekate knows the laws he went ahead and broke them.
“We dragged him to court but have not yet got justice,” they said.
When contacted, Mr Sekate said he cannot comment on the issue since it is in courts of law.
