Charles Mbiire, the MTN Uganda chairman was on Monday appointed patron of the Kabale Municipal Development Forum (KMDF).
The forum which has existed since 2010 was formed under a partnership between the Kabale Municipal Council and the Ministry of Lands to help better urban settlement.
The forum brings together all urban development stakeholders in the municipality to formulate solutions that shape Kabale municipality’s development agenda.
Rev. Fr. Balthazar Ndyomugabe the president of the forum announced Monday that Mr Mbire was joining the forum, during a committee meeting at the Kabale municipal council headquarters.
“I recently contacted our son Mbire to be our patron and he accepted immediately. We want to thank him” Fr. Ndyomugabe said.
He also said that Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, was appointed as the promoter of the forum.
Others personalities who were appointed as promoters are business mogul James Garuga Musinguzi, Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile, Minister David Bahati, ICOB President Dr. Munini Kwehangana Mulera, Dr. Peter Ngategize, among others.
