Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba Kisitu has been expelled from the National team’s training camp in preparation for the forthcoming 2021 African Nations Championship (CHAN) due to take place in Cameroon.
Kajoba’s exit resulted from his failure to observe the camp’s rules and regulations at the team’s Hotel in Kisaasi.
“FUFA has released one of the Uganda Cranes technical staff Fred Kajoba after not being able to observe the camp regulations at the Team Hotel in Kisasi which require all members of the contingent to follow the strict Covid-19 SOPs,” the FUFA statement partly read.
“Kajoba will therefore not travel with the Uganda Cranes Contingent on Monday 28th December 2020 when they fly out of the country for a pre- CHAN tournament in Cameroon in preparation for the Total CHAN Finals that starts mid-January 2021. A replacement for the goalkeeping coach will be named by the FUFA Executive in due course,” the statement added.
ChimpReports understands that Kajoba on Friday left the Cranes camp to attend a Church service on Christmas day without the consent of Head coach Jonathan McKinstry who recommended his expulsion.
This website further establishes that the Northern Irishman recommended Brian Mugisha to take over the coaching role having worked with him in Rwanda.
Uganda Cranes Contingent will leave on Monday for a four-nation pre-CHAN tournament in Cameroon before the final event scheduled for 16th January to 7th February 2021.
