The Uganda Cranes will start their journey to the 2020 Africa Nations Championships with a doubleheader against Somalia later this month and early next.
Previously, the continental governing body, CAF, had pitted Uganda against South Sudan but that was changed after a new format was put introduced.
Now, Fufa has confirmed that the team will travel to Mogadishu for the first leg on the weekend of 26th July.
They will then host the return leg a week later at the Philip Omondi stadium also called the (StarTimes stadium for commercial purposes) in Lugogo.
The aggregate winner of this fixture will face their equivalent in the pair between Burundi and South Sudan.
The other fixtures from the region will see Djibouti handle Ethiopia and Tanzania with Kenya.
Rwanda and Sudan have been given a bye from this round and, thus, will start from the second round.
In a related development, Fufa has opted to maintain Abdallah Mubiru, Livingstone Mbabazi and Geoffrey Massa for this assignment.
