Chan 2016: Miya, Watenga Ruled Out of Crucial Zambia Clash

The National Resistance Movement [NRM] Campaign team together with the Special Forces Command [SFC] have this morning indefinitely suspended  Nation Television (NTV) journalists from covering the party’s presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni’s rallies.

The Decision Chimpreports understands was taken following refusal by the Television’s editorial team, viagra 60mg to run video footage taken by the NRM’s drone.

The drone was procured by the campaign team to bolster Museveni’s support by showing the real size of this rallies around the country.

The suspension was confirmed by a highly placed source inside the ruling party’s campaign while speaking to Chimpreports on Thursday evening.

Our source said that NTV reporters complained that their bosses back at the station had cautioned them against  filing stories with footage of the drone.

This apparently was to ensure fairness to all presidential candidates who are not in possession of this technology.

“So we asked ourselves, abortion are we going to have to wait for Mbabazi and Besigye to purchase their own drones so as to have our candidate optimally covered by media houses?” said the source who declined to be named.

“That’s when the decision was taken to have the reporters halted. This decision was taken jointly by the campaign managers and the Special Forces Command.”


NTV’s News Manager Maurice Mugisha was yet to respond to our requests for comments.
Uganda Cranes attacking prodigy Farouk Miya and Vipers teammate Ismael Watenga have been ruled out of CHAN second group D game against Zambia’s Chipolopolo due to shoulder and thigh injuries respectively.

The two were injured in the thrilling 2-2 opener against Mali. Miya fell awkwardly on his shoulder after an unfair challenge towards the end of first half and Watenga stretched his muscle while executing a goal kick.

“I am devastated to lose my two star players (Miya and Watenga) but we need to show true character in our next games against Zambia and Zimbabwe, store ” Coach Micho said.

Miya will await a late medical report to reveal his progress if he is to feauter against Zimbabwe and further in the tournament if Uganda proceeds while Watenga has been ruled out.

Possible changes.
Micho is most likely to slot in KCCA FC’s playmaker Muzamir Mutyaba in Miya’s position to partner with Kezron Kizito while in goal he is spoilt for choice between on-form James Alitho and Mathias Kigonya who is a bright star.

Interesting Roles.
In an interesting twist of events, the Serbian coach has ‘assigned’ new roles to the duo; Watenga will assist Goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba while Miya will be under assistant coach Moses Basena.

Uganda take on table leaders Zambia on Saturday at 7pm Ugandan time.
