Vipers SC is set to showcase their 2017/2018 league trophy in an open bus parade which is set for Wednesday beginning at 10:00 AM, the club confirmed the development on their official Facebook account.
If this goes to pass, they become the second Uganda club to hold a trophy parade after KCCA FC held the first in 2016.
The Kitende-based club were crowned League Champions on 65 points, four ahead of KCCA FC to seal a cash prize of 60 million shillings, CAF Champions League qualification slot, among others including bragging rights and a right to do a trophy parade of course.
The Parade will start from Kololo Airstrip and head towards Nakasero to club’s sponsors DFCU Bank and Hima Cement main offices first before heading to Wandegeya, Kampala Road, City Square and then Entebbe Road.
Along Entebbe Road, the trophy will have stop-overs around Katwe, Zzana, Kajjansi, Abayita Ababiri, Kawuku and wrap up the function at Roofing Group Limited.
“We ask our fans and well-wishers to join us,” reads the statement, in part.
The parade comes amidst the club’s preparations for the upcoming 2018 CECAFA Kagame cup set June 27th to July 13th in Tanzania.
However, Club captain Nicholas Wadada has already left the Kitende based team – The Right back signed a one year deal with Tanzania’s Azam FC.
Rahmat Ssenfuka, Ibrahim Kiyemba and Goalkeeper Bashir Ssekagya, among others are some of the new acquisitions.
It should be remembered that the club came close to sealing the double, but fell to KCCA FC in the Uganda Cup finals in Bukedea.
