Celebrities from different spheres of life have today paid tribute to Star FM and Star TV presenter Mohamed Mulindwa Muwonge.
During his burial in Mwalo, Masaka District, personalities from the acting section and musicians eulogized the departed veteran as “Generous and extremely selfless.”
The president of the Uganda performing artists Andrew Benon Kibuuka said, “We have lost someone who loved the industry; he was born an actor”
Kibuuka also added that “Right from his father, he advised fellow actors and wished well for everyone.”
He also recounted how the deceased “made people love their jobs, he was talented and worked tirelessly.”
Annet Nandujja, a popular actress and singer was saddened how “Muwonge left before he could enjoy fruits of his sweat.”
Mariam Ndagire who has known the late since 1997 knew Muwonge as a cooperative friend.
“We have been together since 1997,” she said. “He was in all stars, and was like a brother to me,” Ndagire said.
Ruth Kalibala a renowned radio personality at Ddembe FM presenter recalled how “he taught me almost everything I know about radio”
Aloysius Matovu an actor in Bakayimbira couldn’t hide how “we are heartbroken.”
“it’s what God wanted, we feel hurt but it’s done. Mulindwa was a different person. He wasn’t selfish; he gave out all he had to people around him,” Aloysius said.
“We know we shall get to see him some day. He has left a legacy.”
Singer Betty Mpologoma revealed how “He loved me personally and I have learnt a lot from him. I have also been friends with the wife”
Mulindwa Muwonge succumbed to low blood pressure at Nsambya Hospital after a week-long admission.
He was laid to rest on Thursday July 20,2017 in Mwalo, Kyabakuza, Masaka District.
