CECAFA U17 Championship:Bakabulindi Scores Late To Earn Uganda A Point Against Tanzania

Uganda began it’s quest to defend the U17 CECAFA Championship with a stalemate against Tanzania in the game played on Sunday at Muyinga stadium,Burundi.

The Cubs needed a stoppage time goal to salvage a point against a resilient Tanzanian side.

The Serengeti boys took the lead in the 36th minute through Agiri Alistedese and kept Uganda at bay for the rest of the time despite several attempts by the Cubs.

However, with the game desitned for the end, Moses Bakabulindi levelled matters in the 90th minute to help Uganda earn at least a point.

Bakabulindi plays with Vipers Junior Team in the FUFA Juniors League.

The Cubs return to action on Wednesday 18th April against Sudan  before summing up the group B action against Zanzibar  on 22nd April.

Group A has hosts Burundi who lost 4-0 to Kenya on Saturday. The other teams are Somalia and Ethiopia.
