• Tanzania Vs Uganda Hippos – 4pm
Uganda Hippos Head Coach Morley Byekwaso is unfazed despite growing concern over players’ fatigue prior to the CECAFA U-20 Championship tie against hosts Tanzania.
Uganda Hippos dares Tanzania on Wednesday afternoon in a CECAFA U-20 Championship (U-20 AFCON Qualifiers) final held at Black Rhino Academy in Arusha.
The Uganda Hippos tactican expects to make no significant changes from the team that played the previous games.
“Our training has been as always and it is in routine formation because we’ve always been doing this and we’ve not changed much in whatever we’ve done.” Byekwaso noted in a pre match interview before adding that,
“The only worry is fatigue because we needed 48 hours to rest which hasn’t happened, but I think it won’t affect us alone because our opponents also played on the same semi-final day. So I think it’s good that both teams play ground football, they (Tanzania) pass a lot and we do the same, I think the game is going to be so interesting and the fans will enjoy and whoever will do it best will win the game.”
To book the final berth, Uganda saw off Kenya (3-1) while Tanzania edged resilient South Sudan (1-0) in the semi-finals played on Monday.
Before the final, South Sudan will face off with Kenya in the third place playoff (losers match) earlier in the afternoon.
Both Uganda and Tanzania have already confirmed their participation in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations U-20 tournament scheduled for next year in Mauritania.
