CECAFA 2017: Bakaki, Madoi Start for Uganda against Zanzibar

The Uganda Cranes are on the last push in a bid to reach the finals of this year’s CECAFA senior challenge.

The cranes take on Zanzibar in the last semifinal on Thursday at Moi stadium and interim head coach Moses Basena has released the team that will feature.

With Isaac Muleme and Timothy Awany suspended after picking red cards in the previous game against Ethiopia, Basena has made changes to the team.

Police defender Aggrey Madoi who is earning his debut today will start at the left back position replacing Muleme while Awany’s slot has been taken up by Shafik Bakaki.

Ismail Watenga maintains his spot in goal with Benjamin Ochan and Thomas Ikara starting on bench.Nicholas Wadada and Bernard Muwanga complete the back line at right back and centre back respectively.


Tadeo Lwanga, Allan Kyambadde and Muzamir Mutyaba start in the middle of the park while Hood Kaweesa, Milton Karisa and Derrick Nsibambi will lead upfront.

Hosts Kenya have already qualified for the finals after edging out Burundi on Thursday with the final slated for Sunday in Kisumu.
