Rt. Rev. Bishop Callistus Rubaramira of Kabale Catholic Diocese has urged Catholics in his Easter message to recite the Holy Rosary so that Mother Mary may intercede for the world as coronavirus continues to wreak havoc.
The bishop said Catholics should continue to call for her intercession through daily reciting the rosary so that God protects mankind against the COVID 19 pandemic.
He also called on all Catholics to continue fasting and to generously give offertories to the church.
“Let’s improvise on how we give our offertories through our reverend fathers” Bishop Callistus said.
For many people across the world, Easter will be different this year as a result of coronavirus. There will be no church gatherings, and no celebratory meals with extended family and friends.
But many Easter celebrations will still be taking place – just a little differently. Church services are going online, on televisions and Radios.
As for Kabale Diocese, Bishop Rubaramira said mass would be live on Radio Maria, a catholic Radio.
Uganda has recorded 53 cases of coronavirus. Worldwide, there are now more than 1.5 million confirmed cases of coronavirus but of that number close to 354,000 have already recovered.
