U20 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers
South Sudan Vs Uganda
Saturday, 21st April 2018
Uganda will seek to advance to the next stage of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations as they go into the return leg against South Sudan on Saturday at Juba stadium.
The Hippos secured a comfortable 5-1 result in the first leg but head coach Matia Lule indicates there will not be room for complacency ahead of the return leg.
“The first leg result at the moment does not matter. We go into the return leg seeking for a good result and to keep ourselves motivated.” He said.
Skipper Julius Poloto also shares similar sentiments and states they are in good shape to garner maximum points.
“We reached safe and had a light training session and our spirits are high ready for the game. We are focused on making sure we get a descent result here to keep our momentum.” Said Poloto.
Lule will however miss the services of left back Mustafa Kiiza who is out suspended after getting sent off in the first leg.
Powerful forward Tibita Hamisi did not also make the trip to Juba plus goalkeeper Tonny Kyamera.
The winner on aggregate will play Cameroon in the final qualifying round. The 2018 U20 tournament will be held in Niger in November.
