CAF Sets New Dates for U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed new dates for the final qualification round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup tournament.

The final round of games were initially scheduled for May before being postponed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

According to the latest development, the first leg of the qualification games will now take place from 30th October–1st November this year while the return legs will be played between 19th–21st November.

This round sees six nations vie for the final three slots available for the final tournament that will be held in India next year.

Uganda will play host to Cameroon in the first leg of this final qualification round at the StarTimes Stadium while the return leg will be held in Cameroon. The winner on aggregate will book a berth in India.

Elsewhere, South Africa will face off with Morocco while Ghana and Nigeria rub shoulders in their other tie.

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup tournament was initially slated for November this year but was postponed to February 17th next year.
