CAF Confederation Cup: KCCA FC To Face Tanzanian Side In First Round

Tanzanian side Mtibwa eliminated Northern Dynamos from Seychelles to book KCCA Date.

Mtibwa Sugar picked a 1-0 victory in the second leg played on Tuesday away in Seychelles.

The result sends Mtibwa to the first round with a 5-0 aggregate victory. The neighbours had won 4-0 in the first leg in Dar es salaam.

Mtibwa Sugar faces Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA) FC on December 15 and second leg between December 21 and 23.

Haruna Chanongo scored the lone goal in Seychelles. Japhary Kibaya had scored an hat-trick in the 4-0 win.

KCCA finished second in the 2017 Uganda Premier League to book their spot in the CAF confederation Cup.

After reaching the 2017 group stages in the primary competition – CAF Champions League, KCCA were exempted from playing in the preliminary round of the confederation Cup.

KCCA will reach the play off round if they eliminate Mtibwa Sugar. Thereafter, the side’s will be pitted against CAF champions league first round losers to see who books a ticket to Confederation group stages.
