CAF CL: KCCA Slip In Namibia To Lose First Leg

KCCA FC started their Caf Champions League campaign on a wrong foot losing 3-2 to African Stars Fc in Windhoek, Namibia on Saturday.

The first leg of the first round Caf Champions League match was played at the Sam Nujoma stadium.

The hosts made their intentions clear from the onset with early attacks that saw youngster Samuel Kato stretch to block Ambrosius Amseb’s first attempt.

However, despite the Stars’ attack, KCCA was the first on the score sheet when Kamberipa succumbed to pressure to convert in his own net.

Kizza nearly doubled the lead with a solo effort on the left flank that ended up bouncing on the crossbar and out.

Amseb levelled the matters for the hosts from the spot with just five minutes to the break after Peter Magambo handled the ball inside the box.

Youssouf Ibroihim put the African Stars in the lead in the 71st minute before Patrick Kaddu tapped in to restore parity ten minutes later.

The visitors could not hold longer for a draw as the marauding hosts snatched the winner through Ibroihim, again, in the 85th.

The return leg will be played in Kampala later this month on Saturday 24th.
