Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named the match officials that handle the encounter between Sudanese outfit El Merreikh and Ugandan champions Vipers SC.
The two will face off in the preliminary stage of the 2018/19 CAF Champions League that kicks off later this month.
CAF has named match officials from Algeria to handle the first leg while a set from Rwanda will officiate the return leg between the two sides.
The referees appointed to officiate the first leg of the preliminary round come from Algeria. These include Aderazzek Arab who will be the centre referee while Abbes Akram Zerhouni and Brahim El Hamiaoui Sid Ali will be the first and second assistants respectively.
Mustafa Ghorbal also from Algeria will be the fourth official while Youssouf Guedi Guireh from Djibouti and Yohannes Ghirmai from Eritrea will be the Match commissioner and referee’s assessor respectively.
El Merreikh will host the first leg in Khartoum on the weekend of 27-28th November 2018.
Officials for the return leg at St.Mary’s stadium slated for 5th December 2018 including the three referees plus the fourth official will all come from Rwanda while the match commissioner is from Zanzibar.
The centre referee will be Abdoul Karim Twagiramukiza assisted by Dieudonne Mutuyimana and Honorè Simba. Mzee Zam Ali is the match commissioner
This will be the second time that the Vipers SC will be taking part in the CAF Champions League. The maiden appearance came in 2015 after winning the 2014/15 Uganda Premier League title but lost to Enyimba FC from Nigeria.
