Cabinet Orders on Kapeeka Industries After Museveni Tour

Improvement of Kapeeka Industrial Park
Cabinet on Monday directed the Minister of Works and Transport to urgently undertake the expansion of the murram road from Kapeeka Trading Centre to Kapeeka Industrial Park to allow for easy access by the heavy trucks.

This was after President Museveni visited Nakaseke district last Tuesday to tour the works in Namunkekera Rural Industrial Centre.

The construction of the Centre was spearheaded by Senior Presidential Advisor Gen. Salim Saleh.

Museveni toured the incubation centres, farm service centre (Under NAADs) and other functional factories before ending his tour at Ho and Moo Food Company.

Museveni thanked Gen Saleh for turning Namunkekera into an industrial city that will employ thousands of Ugandans.

Namunkekera Rural Industrial Centre is part of Operation Wealth Creation campaign, a government intervention launched in 2013 by President Museveni with an aim of improving people’s household incomes.

Saleh’s ongoing initiative is believed to have created many employment opportunities in the whole of Nakaseke and other neighbouring districts especially to the farmers.

According to Information Minister Frank Tumwebaze, Cabinet on Monday further ordered the entire stretch of murram road (about 19 Kilometers) between Hoima Road and Nakwaya up to Kakinga Bridge must be tarmacked in the near future since the Industrial City had food factories.
