The cabinet on Monday 13th January 2020 at State House Entebbe approved the appointment of Chairperson and Members of the Governing Board of National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA).
Among those approved is former Uganda Telecon (UTL) Administrator Bemanya Twebaze as Representative of Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB).
The pronouncement was made to the media by the Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo at Uganda Media Center on Tuesday.
Opondo highlighted all the approved members as indicated below.
Mr. Joseph N. Biribonwa was approved Chairperson while Ms Ruth Nvumetta Kavuma was approved vice Chairperson.
Maj Gen Apollo Kasita Gowa was approved Representative of the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, Mr James Saaka was approved Representative of NITA U, Mr Bemanya Twebaze was approved Representative of Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), Dr Paul Kintu was approved Representative of Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dr Chris Ndatira Mukiza was approved Representative of Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) while Dr Kivumbi Nannyonga was approved member.
The cabinet also approved the appointment of members of Board of Directors for the National Animal Genetic Center (NAGRC) and data bank as follows.
Dr Johnson Nkuuhe was approved Chairperson livestock specialist and consultant, Dr Juliet Sentumbwe as Director animal resources, Mr Paul Sekyewa as Representative of fish breeders, Dr Herman Sekiwunga Representative of animal breeders, Dr James Oluka as Representative of National Agriculture Research Organization (NARO), Eng. Ssenozi Robert as Representative of farmers in central region and Dr kibeedi Kabral as Representative of farmers in Eastern region.
Others include Mr Ben Anyama as Representative of farmers in northern region, Ms Loice Biira Bwambale as Representative of farmers in Western region, Ms Teddy Alako as Representative of the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development, Dr Richard Akule as Representative of Uganda National Artificial Insemination Technicians Association while Dr Charles Lagu as secretary.
