CAA Injects Shs30m in Inaugural Senior’s Golf Tournament

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in Uganda have sponsored the first ever senior’s golf tournament to the tune of UgShs 30 million.

While unveiling the sponsorship package at a media briefing held at the golf course club in Kitante, search Mr. Vianney Lutaaya indicated the authority have sponsored the event as a way to mark their silver jubilee.

“CAA is marking 25 years of existence in Uganda so we thought that one way of giving back to the community was to sponsor the golf tournament, ” said Lutaaya.

“This is one of the several events we have embarked on as a way of marking our silver jubilee before the climax with the aviation week in December,” he added.

The sponsorship package from CAA comes in two phases with 15M coming in cash while the other 15M is in kind covering administrative costs and logistics.

The senior’s tournament is the first of its kind in Uganda which features golfers of 55 years and above. The two day event is expected to tee off on Saturday 29th October and climax on 30th  at the Kitante golf course

The tournament is expected to attract over 200 participants featuring in two categories. The first category will be the seniors category for both men and women covering full course with winners selected on total gross return.

The other category will be the subsidiary   class that will have both the men and women classification.


The men in the subsidiary category will compete in three classes A, B and C while the women have only A and B.
