Bwanika Praises Besigye for Giving Way to New Blood

President of the People’s Development Party (PDP) and member of the People Power pressure group, Dr. Abed Bwanika has commended the former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President Dr Kiiza Besigye for realizing that time has come to allow a new faces to shape the country’s opposition.

Addressing the media over the weekend, Besigye said he had noticed continued criticism that he was blocking the liberation struggle, and revealed that he had decided to give way for another person who is willing to be the face of the struggle.

Responding to Besigye’s remarks, Bwanika termed this as a good move for Besigye to step aside and rally behind those that have supported him for over 20 years.

“We want to thank Col. Besigye for agreeing that he has done enough and must hand over to another team so that they can help the struggle,” Bwanika said.

“We want to congratulate him for his decision because it is not a common decision on the African continent that someone can allow other people to lead; we thank him for his contribution to the struggle,” Bwanika said.

Bwanika noted that the team that is fronting Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi as the new face of the struggle indeed appreciates Besigye for his deeds but believes that they are now the team that is ready to finish what he started.

“We want Besigye to be part of the team that is supporting Bobi Wine, given his wealth of experience and connections that is still needed in the struggle to liberate Ugandans,” Bwanika said.

Meanwhile, Bwanika asked the US Embassy and President Donald Trump to come to the aid of Ugandans and “help in causing the much needed change.”

“We call upon President Trump to come out and help us the way he helped Zimbabwe; he must intervene at such a time and talk to president Museveni to retire and give way to the new generation of grand children to lead their country,” Bwanika said.
