Busoga United Director, Dian Hope Nyago Tumuhirwe was left fuming as her club was represented by unauthorized officials during FUFA’s consultative meeting with Uganda Premier League clubs held on Wednesday.
A day before this meeting, Busoga United was among the Nine clubs that vowed to boycott the Wednesday meeting, but to director’s surprise, the club was represented by officials that supposedly hold no position at the club.
Busoga Kingdom sports minister Amin Bbosa and Agatha Kayemba were representatives of the Jinja based club at the meeting held at the FUFA conference hall in Mengo.
According to Nyago, no member was authorised to represent the club at the meeting and pinned FUFA president Magogo of bribing the officials that turned up.
“I am the club chairman and I refused to go and also mobilized other club chairmen not to go. And even if I wanted to delegate, I would have sent a club official to go. Amin Bbosa is not a club official of Busoga United so I am asking who authorized him to go, and as who?” Nyago told Bukedde FM.
“The problem is not these ones Magogo is arm twisting into attending. I’m told they have been sending money to these people to come after realizing they have no quorum for the meeting,” she added.
Busoga United, Mbarara City, SC Villa, BUL, Express, Wakiso Giants, Kyetume, Bright Stars, and Onduparaka are the clubs that had pulled out of the meeting basing on the letter signed by Mwine Mpaka that was circulated on Tuesday.
However, only Five clubs in Wakiso Giants, BUL FC, Onduparaka, Kyetume and Mbarara City stood by their word and boycotted the meeting.
