The management of Uganda Premier League outfit Busoga United Football Club has confirmed Kakindu stadium in Jinja as their new home ground leaving the Mighty Arena.
The decision to change home base followed an in-depth analysis and several consultative meetings.
For the past years, Jinja SSS has been harbouring the club as their previous venue (The Mighty Arena) is inside the school, leaving the club management with nothing but praise for the school.
“To our club stakeholders especially from the external wings; fans, well wishers, sponsors, partners and the general public, we are banking on your usual overwhelming moral and financial support. We shall miss our fans when the season kicks off at our new stadium but still remain opportunistic that sooner than Government of Uganda through FUFA shall reinstate the status quo and we can’t wait to have you fill the magnificent stadium in support of your dear club,” read the club statement.
The club management has also warmly expressed their appreciation to the Kakindu Stadium management for accepting to house their home games next season.
Last season, Busoga United finished in 4th place with 42 points from 25 matches after the league was prematurely ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
