An undefined gunman last night shot and killed a local businessman in the western Kagadi district.
The deceased, Abdullah Ntambara, a renowned businessman in the area was gunned down in Kasojo Trading Centre, in Mpeefu Sub County.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to this reporter at the murder scene revealed that the hit was made at around 9pm on Thursday.
These say they heard gunshots and rushed to the scene to find the lifeless body of Mr Ntambara.
Some of the locals who saw the killer say he was hooded.
“He was dressed like ninjas,” one of the eyewitnesses said.
The deceased, who unsuccessfully contested in the previous area LC1 election, owns shops, a school and several properties in Kasojo.
Residents, following the incident were gripped with fear, with many of them saying they had never seen anything like it.
The Mpeefu sub county district councillor Andrew Mbuusa asked government to improve on its investigating ability in order to discover the source of the guns that are assassinating people every now and then.
Mpeefu sub county chairperson Robert Nkwasibwe Birahure said after receiving the news, he immediately alerted Kagadi police
He said the murder was re-planned, because some of the witnessed said they saw the killer checking at the victim’s first shop, before he walked to the second shop where he found him and opened fire.
This morning, police led by Kagadi O/C CID together with a team of Doctors carried out post-mortem at the scene, before handing over the body to the family.
