As the preparations to the 2019/2020 StarTimes FUFA Big League season take shape, all the teams expected to take part are getting ready in all avenues.
To that effect, the Bukedea based FUFA Big League outfit Bukedea Town Council Football Club on Thursday unveiled their full squad for the 2019/20 season.
The Makers & Shakers who had an average performance last season are very much intent on improving their 2019/20 season showings and have already acquired new faces that they hope will improve their performance.
The new faces along with the old-ones were all unveiled at Wash & Wills Hotel in Mbale.
On the new faces, The Makers & Shakers splashed cash on Nigeria’s Innocent Maduka who was acquired from Amuka Bright Stars along with one of the best young defenders in Uganda, Ivan Okello. Other new faces include Stephen Ayo, Jim Kawooya and Jackson Obwana among others.
Bukedea TC also unveiled Anthony Ssekitto as the new head coach assisted by Derrick Musisi. Ssekitto replaces Saleh Mwaye who didn’t renew his contract at the end of last season.
The club president, Agnes Mugena urged all the players to be committed and assured everyone that this is Bukedea’s last season at the Big League given the fact that they have acquired a more experienced coach this season.
“We have had so many coaches at Bukedea TC but others just leave without even achieving 5% of the required task. We have been looking for this kind of a coach and am so glad that we have him now, lets all respect him and lets allow him to do his work,” she said while assuring the new coach of her full support.
The unveiling ceremony was graced by the General Secretary National Council of Sports, Mr. Bernard Patrick Ogwel who has been a die hard fan for about 3 years now.
He thanked the Club president and all the technical team for the hard work they have put up to see the club at this level.
He urged all the players to be committed to achieve the set goal.
“You need to work together forever, maintain the way you have begun and end it in a more higher gear than that,” he said.
Dr. Ogwel also revealed to the club that the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) will offer Shs10M to every Big League club but in 4 potions during the season.
