Bantu clan artiste Buka Chimey must be the happiest man on earth after being selected as the 36th beneficiary of Nigerian star Mr Eazi’s empawa campaign.
The Empawa Campaign that was started in November 2018 will see Chimey shoot his video “love y’e kyalo” that is worth $3,000.
Empawa campaign is an initiative designed with the goal of finding Africa’s next batch of superstars and aimed at supporting upcoming artists from all over Africa.
This comes after the artist submitted a video of himself singing his song “love y’e kyalo” , a collaboration with Maro and it was selected making him a winner in Uganda.
Through a post on Instagram via empawa Instagram account they posted “representing Uganda UG, we think if we got them to a studio for a proper recording it could be sick!!! #empawa 100 no36 @buka chimey”
This website has learnt that 10 of the 100 finalists will be selected to fly to South Africa with Mr Eazi to partake in a 3-week incubator programme where they will be mentored by pop star Raye and renowned producer Diplo, among other big names in the Music industry.
It should be noted that Mr Eazi when launching the ‘empawa campaign’, said that he would choose few of the top 10 finalists to perform at ‘Ghana Party in the Park’ in London next year, alongside himself and other superstars.
