Buganda Premier Mayiga Stops his Convoy to Save Helpless Woman

Buganda Prime Minister Peter Mayiga has often been described as a man “out of touch with the people” who excels at rebuttals and rejoinders when challenged by critics on running the affairs of the Kingdom.

But on Tuesday morning, Mayiga made a stop-over along Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road in Kampala to help an accident victim.

Unlike in the past when Mayiga has been accused of mismanaging funds collected for the renovation of Kasubi Tombs, this time Mayiga found himself in the role of angel, rescuing a helpless woman.

The Katikkiro, who was traveling to Kyaggwe, saw Mary Kiconco lying on the ground.

“I think she may have been suffering from epilepsy as well… as she was found on the ground,” said an official briefed about the incident.

According to pictures seen by ChimpReports, Mayiga stopped his convoy, put Kiconco in his own vehicle and rushed her to Kawempe Hospital before he continued with his journey to Kyaggwe for the Emmwanyi Terimba campaign.

The woman, who at appeared dazed and confused, is seen being helped to disembark Mayiga’s car on arrival at the medical facility.
