Buganda Masaza Cup: Buddu, Ssingo Register Wins

Defending champions Buddu ensured they stayed on the right course to defend the title with an emphatic win against neighbors, Mawokota.

Buddu got a first leg advantage in the quarterfinals of this year’s Buganda Masaza Cup with a 1-0 win away to Mawokota in the game played in Buwama on Sunday.

Ivan Serubiri scored the lone goal to help Buddy secure maximum points ahead of the return leg.

2015 winners Ssingo too earned a 1-0 home win against Bugerere in the game played at Ssaza ground, Mityana.

Stephen Sebufu rose to the occasion to score the all-important goal for Shafik Bisaso’s charges.

In the other games played, Buchochera Jamaldine scored for Kooki to win 1-0 against Busiro.

Gomba drew goalless against Bulemeezi in the game played on Saturday.

The return legs will be played on 6th August to determine the 4 teams that will advance to the semifinals.
