UPDF’S Chief of Defense Forces Gen David Muhoozi has made changes in the army leadership mainly at the army training schools.
In the changes announced Thursday by army spokesperson Brig Richard Karemire, Brig Stephen Kashure was appointed Commandant of the Uganda Senior Command and Staff College at Kimaka.
Kashure replaces Brig Chris Bossa who has been serving at the College since January this year. Bossa has now been appointed Commandant of the College of Logistics and Engineering in Jinja.
In other changes, Col Bob Ogik has been appointed Directing Staff Coordinator at Kimaka; Col Charles Byaruhanga who has been serving in AMISOM moved to Commandant of the Kaweweta Recruit Training School, while Col Kefa Nangeso was appointed Director of Personnel.
Col Hubert Mbonye is the new Defence Advisor (Nigeria) while Col Paul Eswapu was appointed Chief of Staff Uganda at the Rapid Deployment Capability Centre.
Others are Col Ceazar Bahwezi who was moved from Kimaka to head the army’s Directory of Records, as well as Col Mesach Matte who was moved from Logistics to the Operation Wealth Creation.
Commenting on the changes, Brig Karemire said these were normal “after the officers had very successful tours in different offices.”
