Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) center forward Brian Aheebwa has been nominated for the Uganda Premier League December player of the month Accolade.
The former Mbarara City talisman scored seven goals before the league went into a two-month break. He netted four past Onduparaka while the other three came against Soltilo Bright Stars, URA FC and Sports Club Villa respectively.
He will vie for the award with Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF FC)’s Brian Kalumba and Police Football Club’s target man Ben Ocen who have managed to score five and six league goals respectively.
Elsewhere, the Uganda Premier League coach of the month category has two contestants in Uganda Revenue Authority’s Sam Ssimbwa and UPDF FC’s Kefa Kisala.
Ssimbwa is yet to lose any game this season having drawn the first two matches and winning the consecutive three against KCCA FC and SC Villa.
URA FC’s start to the 2020/21 season puts them in the second position on the log with 11 points, one behind table leaders UPDF FC.
His rival Kisala has led the newly promoted UPDF FC on top of the table after matchday five. He has won four and lost one, claiming the top spot with 12 points.
The UPL monthly awards organizing committee is yet to confirm the exact date and venue for the awards ceremony.
