Members of the Parliament’s Appointments Committee have declined to meet the two previously rejected ministerial nominees.
ChimpReports has exclusively learnt that in a committee sitting on Friday morning, store http://cprocom.com/portal/components/com_docman/includes/upload.link.php members changed their mood when the Speaker Rebecca who is also the Chairperson tabled the names and fresh documents of Harriet Ntabanzi and Ismael Orot state ministers designate for Industries and Works respectively.
Members of the Committee boldly told the Speaker that there was nothing new in the curriculum vitae of the two and there was no point meeting them again.
“The Speaker presented to us the names of Natabazi and Orot again. There was nothing to hear from them again and we just called everything off, cheapest ” one of the committee members who asked not be named said. The source also said Kadaga warned them after them meeting to avoid speaking to the media.
According to the source, cheapest Natabazi and Orot met Kadaga earlier this week and convinced her to reconsider and place them for vetting again. Kadaga agreed to schedule another meeting with the committee members.
One member also informed the committee that Ntabazi’s issues are already before the Inspectorate General of Government and it was resolved that Parliament should not interfere.
Ntabazi and Orot were rejected on grounds of questionable academic documents. The Friday sitting only vetted the state minister for International Affairs, Henry Okello Oryem who missed in the first exercise since he was abroad.
Interestingly, both Ntabazi and Orot reported at Parliament very early in the morning ready to be named ministers. They were to leave the waiting room heartbroken later in the afternoon.
