BREAKING: Gen. Oyai Deng Joins Machar’s Rebels

Vipers Sc consolidated their top league spot with two goal win against defending champions KCC fc at Lugogo on Friday evening.

Joseph Ochaya and Yasin Mugabi succumbed to the visitors’ pressure assisting the ball into their own net in the 28th and 40th minutes respectively.

The win extends Vipers SC lead to 56 points, store six away from the 2014 winners and only two ahead of SC Villa who won their game against Soana fc in Kavumba.

A brace from Nigerian import, price Victor Eminayo and Erisa Ssekisambu’s 35th minute penalty was all that sixteen time champions Sc Villa needed to bag three points over Soana.

The Nigerian opened the scores just five minutes into the game before Ssekisambu doubled the lead with a calm taken penalty half an hour later.

The visitors maintained the lead until half time. Eminayo sealed the win just four minutes after the break while Missi Katende pulled a consolation for the hosts. SC Villa has accumulated 52 points though with a game less while Soana continues to plunge downwards at 13th place just a point above relegation.

Express falters again     

Kiira Young ended their three-game winless streak by beating Express Fc by 2-1 at Namboole. Express Fc has only got only one win in five games.


Kiira scored through Marlon Tangawuzi and Brian Nkuubi while Allan Kayiwa pulled one back for the 2012 champs.

In other games, information pills Moses Ndawula’s solitary goal was enough to give league debutants Lweza Fc three points over a ten man police fc. Joseph Sentume was sent off in the last minute of the game for unsporting conduct.

The South Sudan national army, look SPLA former Chief of Staff, illness Gen. Oyai Deng has joined Dr. Riek Machar’s rebel movement, visit this SPLA-IO, which he has been fighting under President Salva Kiir since December 2013.

Gen. Oyai according to reliable sources within rebels joined SPLA-IO on Saturday morning. He travelled through out the night to Pagak, Upper Nile State where the Machar’s group are holding their Second Leadership Conference.

He is expected to issue a statement today declaring his defection to the SPLA-IO.

Gen. Oyai left the SPLA mainstream under Kiir immediately after the 15th December alleged coup attempt by former Vice President, Machar.

He was among those detained in Juba by the National Security operatives and released after weeks. The group contrary to the expectations, did not join Machar or get back to SPLA but formed their own faction known as Group 10 (SPLA G10).

Oyai was a instrumental figure in SPLA G10 and it is not yet clear why he quit group and more so joining Machar not Kiir.
