The body of the son of Buganda Road Senior Magistrate, Stella Maris Amabilis, who drowned in a river in United States arrived today Friday in the country.
Daniel Okello Raphael drowned in a river in the US State of Massachusetts late last month.
The Judiciary Chief Registrar, Esta Nambayo confirmed the incident to the Justices of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, Judges of High Court, Registrars and Magistrates on August 27th 2019.
“With deep sorrow, I regret to inform you of the passing on of Okello Raphael Daniel, 17 years old son of H/W Stella Maris Amabilis, Senior Magistrate Grade I, at Buganda Road Court,” said Nambayo.
Okello, who was first reported to be missing for two days, met his sudden demise in River Merrimack in Jowell City, Massachusetts in the US on August 25th 2019.
According to a family source, the body was on Friday morning already aboard Fly Emirates destined for Entebbe International Airport.
“We are expecting the plane to land at 13:50 (local time) in Entebbe,” said the source.
Burial arrangement had been delayed due to exhaustive investigations in the US to ascertain the exact cause of Okello’s death.
“They had remained with the body for all this time to conclude federal investigations,” said a family member
