Two men, who appeared in CCTV footage murdering a bodaboda rider at Kakeeka in Mengo have been taken before Mango Court to officially record their confession statement
The duo John Bosco Mugisha alias Mukiga and Tamale Aloysius aka Young Mulo appeared before Mengo Grade one magistrate Esther Nyadoi and reportedly recorded extra judicial statements.
No further details of this session were revealed since Police investigations are still underway
This statement is recorded before a judicial officer in confidentiality.
The officer cautions the accused person that this evidence will be used against them in the trial
The arrest of the two followed a viral CCTV clip showing them clearly strangling Derrick Mulindwa and later robbing his Bajaj motorcycle.
Mugisha was arrested on 16th this month from a hide-out in Ndeeba.
On being questioned on the whereabouts of his colleague with whom they appeared in the video, he told the police that Mulo had been lynched by a mob after being caught stealing a motor bike
But later Police received information that Mulo was alive and later on working with other security organizations, they managed to arrest him from one of the shrines in Bukalango Wakiso district
These two are currently held under Police custody as they await to be formally charged before a Magistrates court
