Bobi Wine Postpones Manifesto Launch

The National Unity Platform party (NUP) will launch its manifesto on Saturday November 7, not Friday as had been communicated, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, the party president has said.

Kyagulanyi says the changes were caused by the untimely passing of popular Muslim Scholar and NBS TV’s political analyst, Dr Abdul-Noor Ana’s Kaliisa, who died on Wednesday this week.

“In light of untimely death of a senior leader, sheikh Ana’s Kaliisa, who will be buried in Ntungamo, we hereby postpone our manifesto launch to Saturday 7th November,” he said.

“This has been done to enable our senior leaders including myself to participate in the burial.”

NUP was scheduled to launch its manifesto on Tuesday this week at their offices in Kamwokya but security stopped it after being tipped that they had organized a function with large numbers.

The party secretary general yesterday told journalists at the party headquarters that the launch would be done in Mbarara.

“The launch shall be conducted in Kakoba Division, Mbarara and we have notified the Electoral Commission and Uganda Police Force,” Bobi Wine added in the notice.
