Bobi Wine Heads to CID Headquarters

Kyaddondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine is today Monday expected to appear before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Kibuli, Kampala after being summoned by police.

“I am heading to Kibuli CID headquarters,” said Bobi Wine today in a brief social media message.

According to the law enforcement body, the legislator is supposed to report to the office of Acting Commissioner in charge of Electoral and Political Crimes Mr Joseph Obwona.

In a letter inviting Bobi Wine to the directorate, it was stated that he would be questioned about his involvement in inciting violence and unlawful assembly which he allegedly committed on April 22, 2019.

Police said Bobi Wine defied the IGP’s guidelines during the preparation of his Kyarenga Extra Concert on Monday in Busabala.

“This therefore in pursuance of the provisions of section 27A of the Police Act (as amended) required to report to the Ag commissioner on 26/April at 14hrs,” reads part of the summons.

Bobi Wine was last week placed under house arrest and his residence surrounded by police since but on Thursday escaped to Bugiri district.

In Bugiri district, Bobi Wine attended the burials of the deceased former LC 5 chairman Hajji Siraji Samanya Lyavala who was a member of NRM party.

“I had to find a way of attending the burial of our patriotic elder Haji Siraji Samanya Lyavala in Bugiri. No matter how much the regime tries to keep us apart, we shall always find a way of coming together,” Bobi Wine said while at the burial ceremony.
