Singer Bobi Wine has finally succumbed to pressure from government and changed venue for his much anticipated Kyarenga concert.
Bobi Wine and the team organizing the show- Emma Promotions and Marketing Agency have moved the concert from Mandela National Stadium also known as Namboole to One Love Beach Busabala that is owned by the singer.
The Kyadondo East MP has already revealed that preparations for the concert are in high gear at the new venue.
He has also changed date from 9th to 10th November 2018.
The ‘Kyarenga’ hit maker also revealed that he changed venue after consultations with stakeholders in the project.
“Upon coming into an agreement with the Namboole management, we were twice frustrated, tossed from one police officer to another, we this time round hope, police will avail us security,” he said.
Bobi Wine added that, “We know the management of Namboole and FUFA were used to frustrate our concert but that can’t stop us from moving forward. I know they didn’t want to do what they did, but they managed to do it.”
What is left is to see whether Uganda Police will provide security at the concert as requested by Bobi Wine’s team.
Bobi Wine has had to postpone his show twice after what he terms as frustration from government.
Initially, the singer scheduled the show for 20th October at Namboole but was denied access.
His team again moved date to November 9 2018 but he was also denied after Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) advised Namboole management against letting Bobi Wine hold the concert there due to CAF concerns regarding the status of the pitch.
