Bobi Wine Blames Government for Neglecting Performing Arts

Musician and Kyadondo East Legislator Bobi Wine has pinned Government neglecting performing arts.

Addressing a gathering at the opening ceremony of the Uganda International cultural tourism fair at Uganda Museum, the singer noted how Uganda could blossom, had they cared about the arts industry.

“Successful countries have penetrated into our culture; movies and music,” he said.

“We got to know Nigerian cultures through their movies,” Bobi Wine highlighted.

The concerned legislator also reminded the authorities around how “We have the best musicians in Uganda if I have to boast.”

Bobi further pointed out how Tourism stakeholders failed to jump on Eddy Kenzo’s global success.

“I will point out Kenzo, there was a time when he shook the world with his music and It was our opportunity to showcase our things through him,” he said.

The “Bikwase Kyagulanyi” singer further noted that music and art are the biggest tools of communication, asking the government to support artists.
