Singer turned politician has borrowed a leaf from Eddy Kenzo’s playbook and praised his nemesis Bebe Cool following the latter’s win at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2018.
Bebe Cool was named Best Male Artiste East Africa at the AFRIMA 2018 awards ceremony in Accra-Ghana a few days back.
The Gagamel boss beat stiff competition from some of the region’s best including Diamond Platnumz, Rayvanny and Kaligraph Jones among others.
Interestingly, a day before the awards ceremony, Bobi Wine was in Ghana and spoke at the AFRIMA Africa Music Business Summit as a panelist.
Bobi Wine who was present at the awards ceremony has since applauded Bebe Cool for raising the Ugandan flag higher internationally.
He also handed over the AFRIMA Honorary Legendary Award to Ghanaian band Osibisa.
The legislator took to social media to heap praise on his rival plus other Ugandans who won including Irene Namubiru and Sandra Nankoma.
“As I leave Ghana for home, I am very pleased that Uganda performed exceptionally well at Afrima 2018 where I was invited as a panelist and special guest. I congratulate fellow Ugandan artistes who won awards- Irene Namatovu (Best artist in African Traditional), Bebe Cool (Best Male, East Africa) and Sandra Nankoma (Best Female Artist, African Inspirational Music). Thank you for raising our flag high.
I was also honored to hand over the Afrima honorary Legendary Award to the Legendary Ghanaian band, Osibisa for their immense contribution to music in Africa and the world.” Bobi Wine posted.
