Betway Kobs Entertain Toyota Buffaloes

Betway Kobs vs Toyota Buffaloes (Saturday 4:30pm)

Betway Kobs and Toyota Buffaloes will get out of the festive season mode and back to clashing on the field of play when the national rugby league resumes on Saturday.

Having taken a break for the holidays, the two sides will face off at Legends aiming for maximum points.

Kobs went into the festivities after an emphatic win over Black Pirates to stay within touching diatance of top place.

Now on 25 points, Kobs are 3 points behind table leaders Hima Cement Heathens and are third on the log.

They will be boosted by the return to action of backs Davis Kiwalabye and Adrian Kasito.

The two have missed through injuries but are set to return this weekend.

In their absence, head coach Fred Mudoola relied on his squad depth to negotiate the previous games.

Young fly half Jossiah Ssempeke stole headlines with his composure against Pirates in his first league start for the Uganda Cup holders.

Whether the coaching staff will reward him with another start or return to the old guards is a decision they will have to think hard about.

For Buffaloes, their four wins of the season are sandwiched by defeats to Hima Cement Heathens and DusuPay Warriors.

Having opened the season in defeat against Heathens, the Kyadondo outfit won four in a row before unbeaten Warriors put an end to the good run of form.

Stephen Alul and Wilfred Seguya have been some of the stand out performers for Buffaloes thus far.
