Basoga in Diaspora Urged to Invest in Kingdom

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Obwakyabazinga Bwa Busoga organised a Busoga Diaspora Dinner at Source of the Nile Hotel in Jinja on December 27, 2017.

Speaking at the dinner, the Minister Owek. Joan Machora urged the Basoga in Diaspora to invest in their mother land Busoga.

She said investing in Busoga will create more jobs for the Basoga hence reducing on unemployment rate.

Daudi Migereko, the chairperson Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) also urged Basoga in Diaspora to market Ugandan products outside Uganda like Coffee and Uganda Waragi.

Migereko also urged them to continue supporting Obwakyabazinga Bwa Busoga’s development programs.

He further urged them to invest in tourism opportunities in Busoga and distributed magazines about tourism in Uganda to the guests.

Present at the dinner were Ministers from the kingdom who included Owek. Sheila Gandi Birungi (State for Health), Owek. Andrew Ntange (Information), Owek. Richard Mafumo (Culture), Owek. Matia Wakalali (State for Agriculture), Owek. Ranmal Keshwala (Industries), Owek. Nasabu Nantale (State Education) and Owek. Kiswiriri the chairperson Busoga Kyabazinga Examination Board among others.

Owek. Birungi and Nantale made presentations about achievements in their respective Ministries under OBB.

Owek. Mafumo represented Busoga Kingdom’s Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Muvawala at the dinner.
