JKL Dolphins Vs UPDF, 6 PM
Sharing Youth Vs Ndejje Angels
UPDF Tomahawks and JKL Dolphins will look to forget their opening game losses when they face off in the National Basketball League on Wednesday at the MTN Indoor Arena, Lugogo.
The Dolphins lost 62-57 to new league entrants Charging Rhinos on Saturday as UPDF Tomahawks lost 64-75 in overtime against Our Saviour on Sunday.
JKL look the favourites for this tie as they have strong and experienced players compared to their opponents tonight.
Despite losing star player Libe Makala to KCCA Men, the Dolphins still have a healthier roster with depth.
Blick Norman, Daniel Ogara, Eric Malinga, Daniel Orenga and Brian Namake can tear down any team on a good day – Namake grabbed a double double of 21 points and 10 rebounds in loss to Rhinos.
Tomahawks at the other end, suffered with depth as they played with only seven players (Bernard Okumu, Brian Opio, Chris Opolot, Christopher Kyebambe, Felix Mukunzi, Ijjo Edward, Moses Muhumuza and Moses Olobo) as they fell to Our Saviour.
Baker Kyambadde’s side missed the services of star player Henry Okoth.
Last season, UPDF lost 63-80 before winning 64-61 to JKL Dolphins.
In the other game of the evening, high-flying Ndejje University Angels will look to replicate their scintillating display against KCCA men, when they play Sharing Youth.
Despite playing without Michael Gatete Otieno who crossed to Warriors, the University side eased to a 72-48 victory over new comers KCCA men, in a game that saw Innocent Ochera score a game high 21 points.
However, Sharing Youth may not be a walk in the park as the Nsambya based side are still motivated following their opening 66-72 victory past Our Saviour.
