Basketball: Uganda’s Contingent Departs For Kenya Ahead Of Friendly

Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) has sent a strong contingent in Kenya ahead of a friendly with a host nation.

Kenya is set to face Uganda’s senior basketball teams – The Silverbacks (Men) and Gazelles (Women). The games are scheduled to be played this Friday at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.

The friendlies are set to fine tune the teams ahead of the lined up to prepare the sides ahead of the qualifiers for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and the African Championships.

After recent days of intensive training that ended at MUK grounds on Wednesday, the teams left on Thursday morning via Easy Coach.

The side is expected to arrive in Nairobi later in the evening, around 8 PM.

Albert Ahabwe (National Team official) leads the Contingent, team manager Mohammed Santur will fly in on Friday to join the team, this website understands.

The only change in the team list that was revealed by this website recently, sees Ndejje guard Innocent Ochera join the Men’s team to make it eleven players on board.

Ali Mavita (KCCA) and Nicholas Natuhereza (UCU) will be in charge of the Gazelles. Mandy Juruni will head the Silverbacks.
