Basketball: Uganda U16 To Play In FIBA Qualifiers In Rwanda Amid Border Tension

The Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) has confirmed that Uganda will take part in the FIBA Africa U16 Nations Championships Qualifiers set for June 10th to 15th in Kigali, Rwanda.

The boys’ team has been conducting a non-residential training at Gems Cambridge while the girls are in residential camp at the African Bible University in Lubowa.

The federation’s boss Nasser Sserujonji revealed on Monday in a press briefing that the teams -both boys and girls- will fly out on Saturday 8th June.

The top teams from the tournament will qualify for the FIBA Africa U16 Nations Championship 2019.

Other teams from the Zone 5 include; Burundi, Egypt, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Eritrea and Ethiopia.
