Local basketball federation, Fuba, and the world body, Fiba, have signed a three-year pact that will see Uganda host the Fiba 3X3 Africa cup from 2019-2021.
Last year’s edition was held in Lome, the capital of Togo in West Africa but will now move to Uganda for the next three events. Uganda finished second with 50 points, 24 behind champions Ivory Coast.
“Fuba has signed a 3-year agreement with Fiba to host the Fiba 3X3 Africa Cup from 2019-2021,” the federation announced hoping that “This is expected to be a very exciting tournament and as Fuba, we can’t wait for it to happen.”
The tournament is expected to pull about twelve teams in the senior category, 12 from the Under-18 in both genders from all over the continent.
The first edition is scheduled for Friday 8th to Sunday 10th in November. The venue for the outdoor competition will be announced later.
