Basketball U16s: Uganda Conquer Rwanda, Qualify For African Championships

The Uganda Under-16 women national team, the Junior Gazelles, have qualified to the 2019 AfroBasket U-16 championships.

The Gazelles outsmarted the hosts, Rwanda, 74-49 in Kigali on Saturday to register a perfect three-in-three.

Uganda started the tournament with a 63-55 win over the Rwandans before beating Tanzania and then the hosts in the third game.

On the other side, it was revenge as the Rwandan boys thumped Uganda Junior Silverbacks 72-51 to seal qualification in the boys’ category.

The AFROBASKET championships will be held in the same city of Kigali from August 26th this year.
