Basketball: League Games Postponed As National Teams Enter Camp For Africa Games

The local basketball federation, FUBA, has postponed all the national basketball league games that were scheduled for 19th – 23rd June.

The decision was reached at to allow the national men and ladies teams –the Silverbacks and Gazelles- ample time to prepare for the upcoming AfroCan and Afrobasket games.

Silverbacks and the Gazelles both entered camp on Wednesday to prep for the continental games set for next week from Wednesday 19th to Sunday 23rd June in Kampala.

“Due to the ongoing national teams preparations for the AfroCan and Afrobasket games for the Silverbacks and Gazelles respectively, all NBL games between Wednesday 19th to Sunday 23rd June have been postponed and new dates will be advised. We regret any inconveniences caused,” the federation announced.

The national teams will have a build-up match against the league’s select side Thursday night at Lugogo indoor stadium.

Teams expected at the tournament include: Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Egypt and Ethiopia.

Games postponed include;

3. #140 Sat. 22.06 – YMCA Lady Hamsters Vs KCCA Leopards
4. # 145 Sun.23.06 – UCU Lady Canons Vs  Angels
5. # 146 Sun. 23.06 – MUK Sparks Vs JKL Lady Dolphins
6. # 147 Sun. 23.06 – City Oil Vs KCCA Men
