Philanthropist and author Barbie Kyagulanyi’s passion for lending help towards teen mothers has been recognized.
The Girl Child activist and Executive Director of Caring Hearts Uganda has been awarded with a certificate of appreciation by The Remnant Generation, an NGO that takes care of teen mothers, offers them counseling and equips them with skills like tailoring, among others.
According to the Annabelle the Executive Director Remnant Generation, Barbie was given a nod for her generous and selfless contribution towards her work that has enabled them rescue and restore lives of pregnant teen mothers and their babies through the numerous donations she has been offering.
Barbie took to social media on Monday December 10, to express her happiness and gratitude for being recognized in the struggle to end child marriages and teen motherhood in Uganda.
Barbie recently launched a campaign dubbed ‘Close your Legs and open your Books’ through her NGO Caring Hearts Uganda, which aims at encouraging teenagers to concentrate in their studies and stay away from sexual relationships.
The campaign saw her visit St. Lawrence Horizon Campus where she spoke to the students about the dangers of teenage pregnancies.
