Bank of Uganda Security Official Released on Bail

City Hall court grade one magistrate Patrick Talisuna has granted bail to Beatrice Kyambadde, one of the two security officials at Bank of Uganda who are charged with negligence.

Kyambadde last week applied for bail, which was not opposed by the state prosecution.

She was today granted a Shs 5Million cash bail while each of her two sureties executed noncash bond of 5million shillings.

However Kyambadde’s co accused, Charles Moro who is also awaiting a ruling on his bail application was not produced to court today.

Prosecution alleges that the duo between 10th February and 14th March 2018, being employed as security assistants at BoU, neglected to perform duty of searching people and bags entering in and coming out of the Bank which resulted into disappearance of documents and eventually led to closure of several banks at Bank of Uganda

Kyambadde will return to court on the 14th January next year for mentioning of his case
