The criminal case opened yesterday against music promoter Andrew “Bajjo” Mukasa had a positive political effect that caught many by surprise.
The case was able to bring together, Kampala Central Member of Parliament Hon Muhammed Nsereko and the camp of Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Hon Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine).
The two MPs have lately been at loggerheads, following unsubstantiated reports on social media.
Hon Nsereko days ago, launched a disparaging attack on his Kyadondo colleague, accusing him of refusing to refute rumours that the two had held talks concerning the 2021 Presidential elections.
The rumours claimed Nsereko had approached Bobi Wine, supposedly on behalf of President Yoweri Museveni, asking him to back down from his presidential bid, in exchange for a cash reward.
Bobi Wine and his team declined to dismiss these reports, terming them as trivial, which didn’t go well with Nsereko.
With the two sides seeming lately like sworn enemies, yesterday presented some surprising scenes as Hon Nsereko was seen cozzying up with top members of Bobi Wine’s People Power group.
The parading of Mr Andrew Bajjo, one of Bobi Wine’s music promoters before Buganda Road Court brought the two rivalling factions together.
The court session attracted many of People Power activists, media influencers as well as Politicians who included Hon Muhammad Nsereko.
These took time to interact as they discussed how to among others secure bail for Mr Bajjo.
Inside and outside court people from the two sides were seen cracking jokes and taking selfies before the court session kicked off.
