Socialite Shanita Namuyimbwa commonly known as Bad Black has given female prisoners tips on how to navigate through life behind bars.
The socialite who celebrated her 30th birthday with a glamorous all black party last Friday, was released from jail in 2016 after completing a 4 year sentence where she was convicted of embezzling over Shs11B from her ex-boyfriend David
According to Bad Black, she was treated well during her jail time in Luzira Prison to the point that she would rather go back than walk free while broke.
“Living in jail wasn’t hard for me. Being jailed is better than being broke and free because there’s access to water, electricity, TV, a bed and everything is free.
So I would rather be in prison than be pelted with stones while out because I stole from someone,” She said during an interview with NBS TV.
The socialite who usually visits female convicts in Luzira every after two weeks, urged patience and empathy towards women in prisons, saying not everyone jailed is guilty of the crimes they are accused of.
She advised the female convicts to exercise patience.
“Women in prisons need to exercise patience. Prison needs patience and having an understanding with the prison wardens and guards,” She advised.
